FORT BENNING, GA (WTVM) – It's no easy feat becoming the world's "Best Ranger." Soldiers from Army posts across the U.S. compete for the coveted title, undergoing a grueling 3 days of non-stop competition.

Sunday was day three of the Best Ranger Competition, and as the event comes to an end, the Rangers are now being challenged on an even higher mental and physical capacity, as they fight to end, all hoping to hold the title of Best Ranger.

Through the trenches, over walls, and down lines of rope— the Darby Queen obstacle course offering 24 obstacles that test soldier's physical conditioning, ranger skills, and teamwork.

An intense terrain, of hills and valleys that keep the rangers challenged as they battle an extra element of toughness besides the obstacles.

And with events purposely scheduled back-to-back and around the clock, the three-day competition allows for little time for rest and meals.

"These guys right here, they've already got about 50 miles under their belt just in the last 2 days of completion, and that's not to include the weight that's been on their back for a large portion of that," said Captain Alex Lewis, Officer in Charge of Darby Queen Obstacle Course.

Even still, the soldiers trudge on, overcoming grueling courses and activities.

Using all their strength to focus as they go through the trenches, over walls, and difficult contraptions.

Fighting for the coveted title, and proving they have what it takes.

Combat water survival assessment was the final challenge rangers completed Sunday afternoon.

Here are the results of the 2017 Best Ranger Competition:
