Opelika pedestrian dies after single-car crash on Fox Run Parkway

OPELIKA, AL (WTVM) - A pedestrian has died after a car crash in Opelika Monday night.

Opelika Police say they received a call of a motor vehicle crash with injuries involving a pedestrian on Fox Run Parkway Monday, April 24 at 9:48 p.m.

The crash involved a 2014 Chevrolet Impala and a pedestrian.

Preliminary investigation revealed the Impala was traveling north on Fox Run Parkway.

The pedestrian was walking south on Fox Run Parkway in the northbound right turn lane.

The pedestrian entered the roadway in front of the Impala, which caused the Impala to strike the pedestrian and later succumbed to her injuries.

Names are being withheld pending notification of family.

This crash is still under investigation by the Opelika Police Department Traffic Homicide Unit.
