COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – The Muscogee County Sheriff's office is partnering with The Communication Workers of America to raise money for five homes across the state.

The Georgia Sheriff's Youth Homes was established to give the state's most at-risk children the love, safety, and stability needed to become mature, successful adults.

The golf tournament supporting the cause has been happening for 33 years.

"This year we have 24 teams and we have raised over ten thousand dollars."

There are five homes across the state.

The closest is Camp Pioneer in LaGrange.

Friday's amount raised is the most the golf tournament brought in since its inception.
