COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – Allen Elementary partnered with Columbus State University math collaborative, to do fun and educational activities throughout Friday that involved science and math.
Organizers say the purpose of the school's Stem Day is to put math and science in the hands of the children at an early age so that they will more than likely keep it for the rest of their lives.
Dr. Adams of Columbus State did a special activity with the school demonstrating explosive items.
"I would call it a success. The Children had a lot of fun and the teachers had a lot of fun watching the kids get excited about it as well," says teacher, Lauren Gasser.
This was the first event of this kind for Allen Elementary and they hope to do many more in the future.
