White House denies claims that Robert Mueller will be fired
COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – The White House says speculations surrounding the firing of Special Counsel Robert Mueller are false.
White House officials are denying rumors that President Trump has plans to fire former FBI Director Robert Mueller, who is now head of Special Counsel for the Russia Investigation and appointed by the president.
Some key Democrats are expressing concerns that the president wants to shut down Mueller's investigation into possible collusion with Russia.
White House Special Counsel Ty Cobb told CNN on Saturday that they haven't considered firing Mueller.
Still, President Trump called it a shame on Friday that two FBI employees who worked for Mueller in the investigation exchanged private texts criticizing Trump.
