COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – Legendary University of Georgia Football Coach, Vince Dooley, held a book signing today at Callaway Resort & Gardens.
He was there signing copies of his new book "The Legions Fighting Bulldog," which is about the Civil War and UGA's first Bulldog.
The event took place at the Callaway Discovery Center.
Those who attended also had the chance to buy copies of his previous books.
Coach Dooley has written more than 10 books, from subjects such as history to horticulture.
Coach Dooley says while writing can be stressful, it is tough compared to the intensity of a football game.
"You don't have to make quick decisions in writing. As opposed to being on the sidelines. If you don't like the way the sentence reads you can rewrite it. You can't rewrite plays when you are 4th and 1 and on the goal line. You don't get a second chance," says Dooley.
Dooley was twice named NCAA National Coach of the Year in 1980 and 1982.
He says Georgia will have a tough opponent when they face Oklahoma in the Rose Bowl, but he hopes to see them play in Atlanta for the national championship.
