COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – Columbus police confirmed investigators found two men shot on 24th Street Friday, December 29.
Police reports indicated first responders found Quaterrious Powell and Joseph Thomas, both wounded near the 1400 block of the street.
Both Powell and Thomas were sent to Midtown Medical Center for treatment. Officers then encountered the third shooting victim of the incident, Cornelius Hixson, already receiving treatment for his gunshot wound at Midtown Medical Center.
The three men are the latest names on a list of victims affected by violent crime on this road over the past year.
The first incident, a shooting in early March where a woman was shot in the neck.
Weeks later, on April 30, Columbus police discovered 26-year-old Lavonte Thomas shot on 24th street. Thomas died from his wounds.
On May 8, 23-year-old Glen Adipi was killed in a drive-by shooting on the same street.
Then months later, on September 18, 23-year-old Datrell Roberson and 28-year-old Xavier Scott were both shot and killed on 24th Street.
Investigators said they are still searching for any suspect involved in Friday's shooting.
