COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The Muscogee County Sheriff's Office held a press conference Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. to discuss four inmates who died at the jail in 2017.

The sheriff's office will release the findings from the medical examiner's reports on each inmate.

The following inmates died in 2017:

According to the sheriff's office, Tyler died from suicide and Willaims, Wood and Clark were all natural deaths.

The conclusions of the death investigations recommended changes to certain areas of the jail specifically regarding Tyler's case. The jail's shower curtains have been replaced with curtains which are clear on the top half, in order for jail staff to better oversee inmates faces when locating them in shower quarters.

The jail also added suicide prevention and awareness posters inside the jail urging inmates to seek mental counseling if they feel they are having suicidal thoughts.
