LAGRANGE, GA (WTVM) - A LaGrange man charged with assaulting his girlfriend will now answer to additional charges after reportedly committing that crime in front of two children.
LaGrange police arrested 39-year-old Demond Harris after responding to a domestic violence call on Thursday, Jan. 11.
Harris' estranged girlfriend, Jessica Amaya, told police he entered her home and strangled her until she lost consciousness.
Police say two children saw the attack happen.
Harris has since been charged with aggravated assault. Police say they will tack on child cruelty charges since the incident was witnessed by the children.
