COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A Columbus State University student is taking his musical talents to Florida.

James Camron Bryant is a division winner in the Music Teachers National Association's Young Artist Competition.

Bryant is a sophomore at CSU's Schwob School of Music and has played the French horn for eight years.

Bryant and six winners from other divisions will travel to Lake Buena Vista, FL in March to compete as finalists in the competition. He says he's excited about the experience.

"It's humbling. You get to know where you are performance wise and you get to meet all these other players that put in the hours like you do. You get to know how the experience goes and everything," says Bryant.

The winner of the competition will receive a cash prize and will perform in a 'winners concert' during the conference.
