OPELIKA, AL (WTVM) – The Opelika Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting in the 600 block of Edmon Avenue.

On Thursday, Feb. 8, around 11:15 p.m. police responded to a shooting on Edmon Avenue.

The individual was treated by the paramedics and the Opelika Fire Department and taken to the East Alabama Medical Center.

The victim, 19-year-old Jabbar Combs, Jr., of Tuskegee, AL died as a result of his injuries Sunday, Feb. 11, according to Lee County Coroner Bill Harris.

No arrests have been made at this time.  Numerous interviews have been conducted.

All findings will be presented to a Lee County Grand Jury at a later date.

This case remains under investigation by the Opelika Police Department's Investigative Services Division.
