UPDATE: Police locate suspects in deadly crash on Forrest Rd. in Columbus
COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The search is on as Columbus police look for a driver who fled the scene of a serious, even life-threatening, car crash on Forrest Road.
Saturday around 11 p.m., police blocked off the intersection of Forrest and Woodruff Farm Roads.
News Leader 9 has confirmed some initial details with investigators. A black truck was heading westbound when it apparently lost control and collided with another vehicle.
Investigators say two suspects have been located in connection with the accident.
Five of the six people involved sustained injuries that required attention at Midtown Medical Center.
One person, police said, was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
One of the drivers in the accident, a 55-year-old Gary Eugene Walton, was pronounced dead at 1:35 a.m. Sunday morning.
