Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office warns of bond scam
COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The Muscogee County Sheriff's Office says it has just been made aware of a new scam involving bonding companies.
Scammers are reportedly attempting to scare those who just got out of jail with more jail time.
Deputies say people who just got out of jail on bond are being contacted and told to wire money to avoid another arrest.
The office says you need to be aware that this is a scam.
You are encouraged to contact your bond company directly if you receive a call like this. As always, never send anyone money over the phone.
