COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The jury has been dismissed Wednesday afternoon in the UPatoi murder trial.
Rufus Burks, 17, stands accused in the deaths of Gloria Short, her son Caleb Short, and granddaughter Gianna Lindsey.
Burks is facing 10 charges including three counts of malice murder, three counts of felony murder, kidnapping, burglary and auto theft.
Suspects Raheem Gibson and Javarceay Tapley pleaded guilty before the jury was seated.
The State is hoping to debunk the idea that the brutal deaths were a one-man show.
Defense attorney Jennifer Curry continues to point fingers at co-defendant Javarceay Tapley as being solely responsible for the brutal deaths.
