COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A Democratic candidate for Georgia Attorney General visited Columbus Thursday.
Charlie Bailey is a public servant and prosecutor who is running for attorney general to protect Georgia's families from crime, corruption, and consumer fraud. He announced his candidacy Thursday, Feb. 8.
Bailey has first-hand experience on the front lines of fighting crime. As a Senior Assistant District Attorney in the Fulton County District, he served in the Gang Unit where he prosecuted some of the toughest cases against some of Georgia's most violent criminals.
"I think folks would be hard pressed to remember when the attorney general did something for them. We have folks across this state that are hurting and they need an attorney general who is going to do things for them," says Bailey.
Bailey will take his experience fighting for people and against crime and corruption to the attorney general's office.
Bailey says he wants to be remembered for the good he has done.
