Columbus joins Georgia Legal Food Frenzy competition
COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Columbus is participating in 7th the Georgia Legal Food Frenzy competition this year.
The donation competition is between legal organizations throughout Columbus to benefit Feeding the Valley Food Bank.
The Columbus Consolidated Government has donation boxes set up in the CCG Annex, Building, Columbus Fire and EMS Station 3, the government center, and the public safety building. Donations of nonperishables, as well as checks or cash, are being accepted.
All proceeds and food will go towards Feeding the Valley. One dollar equals four pounds of food.
"The donations are going directly to our community and to our families in this community so we can really see the effect and impact this is having on helping folks not go hungry," says Brennan Reh, public information officer for the mayor's office.
The public is free to make donations.
