COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The Muscogee County School District is considering a plan to enhance school security.
If the plan is approved, all high schools in the district will have a full-time armed security guard on staff for the upcoming school year.
The cost of the guards will be more than $800,000 including $350,000 needed for start-up costs. The proposal is part of the district's 2019 fiscal budget.
A vote on the security plan expected to take place in June.
