COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The Muscogee County Sheriff's Office is learning of another phone scam targeting people in the Chattahoochee Valley.
Those behind the scam are contacting residents and telling them that the MCSO has warrants out for their arrest and they must pay money, usually by a prepaid card, to avoid being arrested.
MCSO is reminding residents that they give you no warning, do not call you, and you cannot pay them to keep you out of jail.
Please tell everyone, including your aging loved ones, that anyone contacting them in this way is a scammer.
