COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - People in the Columbus community got the chance to learn skills to cope with grief.

The 25th annual Living with Grief conference, hosted by Columbus Hospice, was held at the Cunningham Center Wednesday.  Attendees were given ways to better process grief in a positive way.

Cathy Pearson, the education coordinator of Columbus Hospice, says she wants everyone to know that grieving is normal and there are ways it can help you grow.

"The important factor is that we live in a society that doesn't like to acknowledge grief and losses that we have in our life. Losses could be a loss of a loved one or the loss of a job or possession. This conference gives us tools to help process grief in a positive way," says Pearson.

Columbus Hospice of Georgia and Alabama is a community nonprofit hospice founded in 1979.
