SMITHS STATION, AL (WTVM) - Smiths Station High School held its 4th annual Panther Pow Field Day Wednesday.

The event is part of the school's impact project. Leadership classes from the school team up with special needs students to put on a field day.

Panther Pow Field Day consists of kickball, a dunking booth, arts and crafts, and face painting.

Amber Pickard, a leadership teacher at Smith Station High, says the program benefits everyone.

"Throughout the year our kids are learning how to give to others through servant leadership. Really by the end of the day, they will both be better people for it, says Pickard.

Almost 50 students participated in the field day.
