COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A multi-million-dollar housing project could bring several of homes to Columbus.
If completed, the project would be located at the corner of Hilton Avenue and Wynnton Road. The possibility of the housing project us getting mixed reactions from the community.
Developers with TBG Residential say they have decided to build slightly over 80 homes in the area. They say considering Wynnton Road is one of the main roads traveled in Columbus, the property could bring life to the community.
"Eighty percent of the apartment homes that we are building have an affordability component to it. The preliminary numbers show that the city has a huge need for affordable housing for its residents, so it's not only a good thing for the residents, it's good for the commercial developments in the area," says Kevin Buckner of TBG Residential.
As far as funding goes, the developer says they won't know when everything will be finalized until the end of this year.
