NFL player, LaGrange native visits hometown to inspire young athletes
LAGRANGE, GA (WTVM) - An NFL athlete from LaGrange returned to his hometown Friday.
Wesley Woodyard, a Tennessee Titans linebacker and co-founder of the 16 Ways Foundation, visited the city to help inspire young players. An event was held to bring attention to the upcoming Flag Football Summer League in LaGrange for children ages six to 12.
Woodyard says he hopes football can guide more children like it guided him.
The program is open to 80 players and includes six weeks of practice and play as well as six non-contact games. A fun-filled family day on the league's championship weekend will be held to highlight athletic and personal skills.
