LEE COUNTY, AL (WTVM) - A man who was on the run from authorities is facing time in an east Alabama jail.
A Lee County jury found Yonis Monge guilty of attempting to murder two victims.
On Sept. 4, 2015, the Opelika Police Department responded to a call at the Crestview Trailer Park, located on Waverly Parkway, where two people were found with multiple gunshot wounds. Both victims recovered from their injuries.
Authorities say Monge committed the crime in Lee County back in September 2015, and after escaping the area Monge was later taken into custody by U.S. Marshals in Louisiana.
The Lee County district attorney's office says Monge is in the Lee County Jail and will be sentenced for the crime at a later date.
