AUBURN, AL (WTVM) - Auburn University is wishing one of its own alumni a happy 'alive day' this week.
The school's alumni association posted three photos of the soldier, Josh Wetzel.
'Alive day' is a term used mostly by those in the military after they survive a life-threatening event.
The association says Wetzel was injured on May 31, 2012, after he stepped on an IED in Afghanistan.
Wetzel lost both his legs and was critically injured, but later recovered.
Since then, he has earned a marketing degree from Auburn and has participated in other community and school events.
