COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM)- Marvin Goldstein has been entertaining audiences for more than 50 years as a pianist and music performer, and just wrapped up a three-week tour in Jerusalem. Sunday, he's made a short stop here to Columbus along with Vanessa Ross in a special performance for those in the Fountain City.
"Music can change lives through not just entertainment, but a way of feeling and sharing with others on these things. We hope our music will help bring people together and culturally as well. It's just a fun thing to do," says Goldstein.
It's all a part of a special 40th-year-anniversary ceremony for the church starring Marvin Goldstein and Vanessa Ross. Goldstein says his greatest passion is his 'Peace with Music' program, a trademark non-profit to raise funds to take music across the globe to change lives.
He says he hopes it bridges the cultural, political and religious differences of people everywhere through music.
"Music opens all the doors. Music opens all the ways of feeling the spirit. It's really a celebration truly were you can feel something different. Music can affect your heart and touch your soul. That's what we hope to do," says performer Vanessa Joy.
