FORT BENNING, GA (WTVM)- Fort Benning's Centennial Independence Celebration will be June 23 on York Field with fun-filled events such as shows, games, and fireworks. The event is free and open to the public, however, there will be a charge for the food.

More than 50 vendors will serve a great variety of traditional fair favorites, including funnel cakes and barbecue. There will also be untraditional foods being served like gator ribs and kombucha. Food choices like German, Chinese, Cajun, Philly, Italian, Polish, French, and everything Southern will be available.

The food vendors will only accept MWR tokens. You will be refunded for tokens that you do not use, so it is recommended to load up early to save yourself a return trip to the token trailer.

Tokens will be available throughout the event. Starting today you can purchase tokens between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. weekdays in Building 228 on Kilgore Street.

There will be a chance for active duty service members and their spouses to win a 2018 Kia Soul courtesy of Kia Autosport of Columbus. For those who wish to enter you must register before June 22 at benning.armymwr.com
