Anchor Cheryl Renee gets a surprise early birthday present: her husband

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - News Leader 9 anchor Cheryl Renee is going to be off next week, which is also when her birthday is.

So, Chuck Leonard and Cheryl's husband, Todd, teamed up and schemed to surprise Cheryl this morning before she leaves.

To close out the 6:00 a.m. newscast, Chuck said that we had forgotten someone who was supposed to be part of the WTVM birthday club this morning.

A confused Cheryl asked who it was and looked up to see Todd coming into the studio with a cake and flowers.

Cheryl's birthday is not until Tuesday, June 19, but everyone here at News Leader 9 wants to wish our beloved Cheryl Renee a very happy birthday.

And good job, Chuck and Todd!
