COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Three people have been arrested and charged in connection with a home invasion turned murder in December 2017.

61-year-old Kenneth Moore was shot in his Curry St. home in December and later died due to his injuries on January 1, 2018.

18-year-old Marquez Clayton,16-year-old Ladarius Render and 14-year-old Kevonta Daniels were arrested and charged with robbery of a residence with a gun, aggravated assault and willful killing with a gun in March.

According to the Columbus Police Department, court hearings are happening now because recently revealed autopsy results indicated Moore was murdered.

Since Moore died more than two weeks after the shooting and underwent three surgeries, CPD needed to make sure his death was not medical before taking the suspects to court.

Though the autopsy result is dated June 1, 2018, CPD just received it.

Clayton and Render appeared in Recorder's Court Wednesday, June 19. Their cases were bound over to Superior Court.

Daniels was set to appear in Recorder's Court Friday, June 22, but failed to do so.
