Two men in LaGrange dispute over property leading to gunshots

LAGRANGE, GA (WTVM)- On Sunday, June 24, at 12:53 p.m., Officers from the LaGrange Police Department responded to 905 Troup Street, LaGrange, GA, in reference to a group of people fighting.

As officers were responding they were advised that a person had been shot and was lying in the street. Upon arrival, officers were told that the two who were shot had left the scene in a truck and were on their way to the hospital.

Officers located the two gunshot victims at the emergency room and identified them as Bryce Lovelace of Courtney Drive, LaGrange, Georgia and Christian McFarland of Troup Street.

Lovelace was struck in the buttocks area and McFarland was hit in the lower leg.  McFarland was transported to an Atlanta area hospital for treatment and Lovelace was treated and released at Wellstar West Georgia.

The initial investigation revealed that the victims were involved in a dispute over property.  The two men became involved in a physical fight and someone pulled a firearm and fired several times hitting the two victims.

The suspect(s) has not been identified at this time but detectives are in the process of interviewing several witnesses.
