COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Georgia's lieutenant governor visited Columbus Wednesday for an informal meet and greet.
The purpose of the meet and greet with Lt. Governor Casey Cagle was to meet the public and encourage them to continue their support. Cagle, who is running for governor, is encouraging the public to get to the polls in the upcoming run-off election.
Several local city officials were in attendance.
Cagle said he was very happy to be back in Columbus and appreciates the support that was given to him.
"It is very important that people do come back to the polls on July 24. Early voting begins July 2 and so there are plenty of opportunities to exercise the right that you have to vote. It is important and this election is critical," said Cagle.
His next stop will be in LaGrange on Thursday.
