Virginia College hosts community health fair in Columbus

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Virginia College hosted a community health fair in Columbus Wednesday.

The fair was part of parent company Education Corporation of America's national community health fair events.

Students who attend the school had the opportunity to get hands-on learning for their career paths. During the event, people had the opportunity to get health checks, blood pressure screenings, and other things that can normally be checked at a doctor's office.

"We are here to service our community. We not only bring students in and provide them with skills for their chosen career. We are here to focus on building our community through our students as they begin to go out into the workforce," said Director of Programs Ronald Wright.

This year marked the third year the health fair has taken place.
