Columbus shoppers say their final goodbyes to Toys 'R' Us

(WTVM) - It's a sad day for Toys "R" Us lovers after the company announced they will permanently close all stores nationwide.

"It's a little sad but I guess they had to do what they had to do."- said Louise Cofield, a local shopper.

It's every child's happy place, and after Toys "R" Us filed bankruptcy it caused them to close every store.

The high demand for online shopping is saving families a trip to the store and it's is hurting retailers like Toys and Babies-R-Us.

Liquidation sales started in March and they are continuing to offer merchandise at a discount before shutting the doors for the last time.

Shoppers expressed how much they will truly miss Toys "R" Us.

"It's going to be a sad moment because I'm use to bringing my kids here, letting them run around the store and pick out different toys and they really like coming here," said Dehaven Riley, another shopper.

"She loves to come to Toys-R-Us, it was one of her favorite toy stores. So, I wanted to make sure she saw that it was really closed," said Louise Cofield.

If you want to experience the place people call the world of toys, you have until 9 p.m. on Thursday.
