Tuskegee man arrested in Auburn for shooting into a home and vehicle

AUBURN, AL (WTVM) - A man from Tuskegee was arrested in Auburn on several warrants Wednesday, June 27.

Keunte R. Mabson, 24, is charged with discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling, discharging a firearm into an unoccupied vehicle, and fleeing and attempting to elude police.

Auburn police received a call regarding shots fired at around 11 p.m. at a residence in the 400 block of Mary Lane. Police were informed that Mabson shot into a residence and a vehicle, then fled the scene in a vehicle.

According to police, an officer tried to conduct a traffic stop after seeing the suspect vehicle in the area. Police say the driver of the vehicle initially refused to stop and fled for several miles.

Once the vehicle pulled over, Mabson was taken into custody.

Mabson was out of jail on felony drug charges. He was transported to the Lee County Jail and is being held on a $58,000 bond.

No injuries were reported in these incidents and the residence and vehicle sustained minor damage.
