COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – At Monday's city council meeting, the city manager's agenda had a long list of items for the council to decide on.

First up was a part of the master plan for Wynnton Road.

The council approved an agreement with the Georgia Department of Transportation to ensure funding for the streetscapes project until December 2019.

They approved a $90,000 budget to make renovations to Recorder's Court, they say it will function much better with the changes needed.

Inspections and Codes Director John Hudgison gave an update on the Columbus Government Center. He said ServPro is still on site and has removed all fans from each floor but only floors nine and below are open.

Mechanical and electrical contractors are on site assessing the damage done to systems and making repairs. IT is also assessing damage to computers and copiers.

He also mentioned that the biggest thing employees are complaining about is mold. They are steadily working to make sure mold does not continue to harvest in the building.

He says the next steps are to have plumbers on site investigating how to reduce pressure on existing plumbing.
