United Way collecting donations for school supply drive Stuff the Bus
COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley will hold two collection days for its school supply drive, Stuff the Bus.
The first collection day on Saturday, July 14 will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Walmart on Airport Thruway.
The second collection day is Saturday, July 21, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Walmart on Airport Thruway as well.
Terri Parodi from United Way says, "The need is very great. Just in Muscogee County alone, we actually serve Muscogee County along with Phenix City. Russell County and Harris. There are over 5500 children on Pre-K to second grade just in Muscogee County."
The supplies benefit children in need who are in grades Pre-K to 2nd grade. The supplies will be distributed to 35 Title 1 schools in our area before the beginning of the school year.
They will be collecting the following items:

- style="margin-left: 0in; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">3-Ring View Finder Binder (1”)
- style="margin-left: 0in; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">Notebook paper (wide ruled)
- style="margin-left: 0in; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">Composition notebooks (wide ruled)
- style="margin-left: 0in; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">Markers (washable, classic colors, broad line)
- style="margin-left: 0in; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">Crayons (24 pack)
- style="margin-left: 0in; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">Erasers
- style="margin-left: 0in; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">Glue sticks
- style="margin-left: 0in; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">Scissors (rounded, for young children)
- style="margin-left: 0in; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">#2 Pencils (1 Dozen)
