(WTVM) - Former Harris County Tiger Jordan Jenkins returns home for his first ever football camp at the stadium where he grew up.
"This is like my extended family, I love being back here, I love trying to give back to everybody here, just to help give kids a chance that not a lot of people have," Jenkins said.
His camp gives kids a chance to spend time with an NFL athlete, who was once in their shoes. And it gives them a chance to see that one day they could be in his.
"I just try to help them understand that anything's possible if you put your heart into it and you've just got to put in the work."
Jordan returns to his own work in a couple of weeks for training camp, where he's got some specific goals.
"My goal this year is to be as nasty, as dominating, as aggressive as possible..."
But Friday he was all smiles, and happy to pass along his knowledge. Who knows? We may have seen a future NFL star on the field.
"It could be the first step in them embracing football, loving football and realizing this is a fun sport."
A fun sport, and one that provides Jordan a chance to give back to the place that gave so much to him.
