CHATTAHOOCHEE COUNTY, GA (WTVM) - The second-longest serving sheriff in the state of Georgia passed away.
Glynn Cooper served as the Chattahoochee County Sheriff for 44 years, from 1972 to 2016, making him the sheriff to have served the second-longest amount of time in the state.
Cooper passed away Thursday, July 12 at Columbus Hospice and was 84-years-old.
A visitation will be held for Retired Sheriff Cooper Sunday, July 15 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Watson-Tante Funeral Home in Buena Vista, GA.
His funeral will be held Monday, July 16 at 11:00 a.m. in the Roscoe Robinson Recreation Center in Cusseta, GA.
