AUBURN, AL (WTVM) - Auburn Mayor Bill Ham's 20 years in office are coming to a close and there are now six people vying to succeed him.
Qualifying for the 2018 municipal election ended July 17, meaning these six candidates are the only ones cleared to run for mayor.
The six hopefuls are:
- Ron Anders, Jr., the current Ward 2 Councilman on the Auburn City Council
- Brittany Cannon-Dement, an instructor at Southern Union State Community College and a lifelong Auburn resident
- David Hill
- Lindburgh Jackson
- Jordan Langdon, an Auburn University sophomore
- Richard Speake
Auburn's new mayor will be decided in the Aug. 28 election.
