COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The man found in a Columbus dam on July 20 has been identified.

Muscogee County Deputy Coroner Charles Newton had previously confirmed the body belonged to a 34-year-old man.

Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan has now confirmed that the victim's name is Stephen Jascomb.

His body was recovered from the North Highland Dam spillway, a quarter of a mile south of the north bypass bridge near Georgia Power's North Highlands Hydro Plant.

Georgia Power employees reported the body around 5:59 p.m.

According to the Coroner, where Jascomb is from has not yet been determined, but he was reportedly homeless.

The body has been sent to Atlanta for an autopsy.

His cause of death is still undetermined and is pending toxicology reports and a police investigation.
