UPDATE: 1 person dead in Opelika shooting on W.E. Morton Ave., victim ID'd

OPELIKA, AL (WTVM) - One person has died following a shooting in Opelika Monday night.

Police responded to multiple calls of shots being fired in the 400 block of W.E. Morton Avenue around 7:47 p.m. on July 23 When officers arrived in the area, they located an individual suffering from a single gunshot wound in the 1800 block of Toomer Street.

The victim has been identified as 28-year-old Brucetravius Frazier of Auburn.

Frazier was treated by paramedics and transported to Piedmont Columbus Regional in Columbus, Georgia for treatment where he later died due to his injuries.

Police continue to investigate the incident.
