UPDATE: 12-year-old girl was injured in shooting on Fort Benning Road

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A girl was injured in a shooting in Columbus Thursday evening, according to police.
The incident happened at an apartment complex in the 2300 block of Fort Benning Road.
"I was shocked. I didn't hear the gunshots. We just moved here six months ago," says neighbor Clarence Smith.
The 12-year-old girl was taken to Piedmont Columbus Regional with minor injuries.
Ths shooting is an ongoing investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact police as soon as possible.
