COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Today, July 31, marks five years since a crash that killed a 32-year veteran of the Columbus Police Department while he was in the line of duty.

53-year-old Corporal Thomas Keith Slay, known as Keith, was heading to provide back-up to a meth lab operation when a driver pulled out in front of him.
