TROUP COUNTY, GA (WTVM) - Troup County Sheriff James Woodruff is receiving high honors for his service.
Sheriff Woodruff was given the President's Award Monday during the Georgia Sheriff's Association Summer Conference.
He received the award for his work over the years with the Georgia Sheriffs' Youth Homes initiative, in which he serves as a board member for the Pineland Campus.
Sheriff Woodruff helped raise more than $28,000 for the Pineland Youth Homes between 2013 and 2016.
That money was later used for a van, supplies for student drivers and to improve the Pineland campus.
