LANETT, AL (WTVM) - One of the Valley's own won a big-time award last night from Governor Kay Ivey.
Lanett visitor center's Melinda Edwards was awarded the statewide Welcome center employee of the year at Monday night's "Alabama Governor's Conference on Tourism."
Edwards has worked for the center for 5 years where she welcomes hundreds of visitors daily to the Yellowhammer State from all across the nation and world.
"I love my job," said Edwards in her speech. "I love Alabama and I love what I do."
The conference's master of ceremonies was WSFA's Tonya Terry, WSFA is WTVM's sister station in Montgomery.
