AUBURN, AL (WTVM) - A man and three juveniles were arrested in Auburn for auto burglary and theft.

Nakevious Devon Thomas, 19, from Opelika is charged with breaking and entering of a motor vehicle and fourth-degree theft of property.

According to Auburn police, an officer patrolling the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 200 block of Armstrong Street observed three males shining flashlights and looking into vehicles.  When officers responded and attempted to contact the suspect, they fled on foot.

After a brief pursuit on foot, the three suspects were taken into custody. Police say a fourth juvenile was identified and take into custody a short later.

Police say Thomas was identified and responsible for unlawfully entering a pickup truck and taking elect electronics and money.

Thomas was transported to the Lee County Jail where he was being held on a $4,00 bond.

Juvenile complaints were issued on the teens and they were transferred to the Lee County Youth Development Center Detention Facility where they are in custody awaiting a detention hearing.

The case remains under investigation and additional charges are possible.
