COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Muscogee County School Board member discussed a new social media policy at Monday night's work session.

The policy focuses on board members communicating in a respectful professional manner.

All board members would have to follow the proposal If approved during their meeting next week.

The new policy was introduced in order to follow a model similar to one passed by the Chatham County School District in Savannah.

The proposal comes weeks after a social media controversy surrounding District 8 member Frank Myers' comments about a woman's picture on Facebook.
