Man arrested in Forrest Rd. shooting that injured woman

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – Columbus police have made an arrest following a shooting on Forrest Road that happened on July 28.
Mario Smith, 32, was arrested on Monday, Aug. 13 on outstanding warrants including the shooting that injured one woman in the 6000 block of Forrest Road.
Smith was charged with the following offenses:
- Aggravated assault with a gun
- Cruelty to children
- Convicted felon in possession of firearms
- Possession of firearms or knife during the commission of a crime
- Commission of crime by convicted felon through use of a firearm
He is expected to appear in Recorder's Court on Wednesday, Aug. 15 at 9 a.m.
