COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A local musician stopped by the John B. Amos Cancer Center to spread a little joy to cancer patients.
Ryan Alexander is a local musician whose mother battled breast cancer beginning in 1995 and passed away on Aug. 15, 2001, from her disease.
Ryan visited the Cancer Center today on the anniversary of her passing to perform for current patients.
Ryan says, "I think she'd be really really proud that I found my calling and my dream- with something that no matter what I'm doing- it's something that I can run to that makes me happy. So I decided to do my best to honor her on the anniversary of her death which is today."
His mother always encouraged him to pursue music and he wants to honor her memory with his performance.
