Community leaders, members attend 'Meeting of the Minds' to share ideas

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Leaders in the Columbus community met Thursday to discuss a variety of topics pertaining to the city.

The monthly "Meeting of the Minds" took place at the Loft on Broadway and attempts to pull in experts in various subjects from around the Fountain City.

The group, which included Mayor Teresa Tomlinson, Mayor-Elect Skip Henderson, and Jacy Jenkins, founder and publisher of Electric City Life, discussed topics such as the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Columbus and different solutions to make the city progress.

"We as a society right now are used to being behind our screens and on the phone texting. But, it can never substitute for coming together and feeling that energy. When we come together, we're able to encourage each other and bounce ideas off of each other and collaborate," said Jenkins.

Those in attendance also mentioned upcoming projects in the making and what they want to see being developed in certain areas.
