COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The largest event to raise money and awareness in the fight against Alzheimer's is taking place in Columbus next month.
People in Columbus are gearing up for the Alzheimer's Association's Walk to End Alzheimer's. A kickoff party was held Tuesday at the Wicked Hen restaurant.
The community was invited to the kickoff to learn about the upcoming walk and how their participation can make a difference.
"It gives us the opportunity to answer questions and to make our volunteers available to those in Columbus who are participating in the walk. It just sets the spirit and the tone for the next month when we will be busy fundraising and getting ready for fun that Friday evening," said Program Director Christina Vogler.
The Walk to End Alzheimer's takes place Sep. 21.
